In ghostscript-7.04-1 I get:

Using ghostscript-7.03-2 I instead read
Cannot create temp file /tmp//usr/bin/ps2epsi.XphJpJ

Creating the directory /tmp/usr/bin "fixes" the problem
and this version of ps2epsi then works as intended.
