This package does not work on alpha machines.

wavplay says:
Only supports PCM wave format...
on all wav files.

The reason is a plain integer size mismatch. It is using [unsigned] long in file format structures supposed to contain 32-bit values.

I've made requred changes. wavplay seems to be ok, however I have no time or wish to test other components (I used it only to check that my sound card works).

Nevertheless, I could send a patch if anybody cares.
