PLD also exhibits the problem mentioned in the above RedHat security announcement,i.e.

perl -le 'use Digest::MD5 qw/md5_hex/; $s = "test\x{101}"; chop $s; print                               
(md5_hex($s) eq md5_hex("test") ? "ok" : "not ok")'

returns "not ok".
