Title:         Bug in /sbin/rescan-scsi-bus
Ticket ID:     #436
Ticket URL:    http://bugs.pld.org.pl/?bug=436
Package:       scsiutils-1:1.7.2.10.0.97-1
Distribution:  PLD-Ra.main PLD-1.0.devel.main PLD-1.0.devel.test PLD-1.0.devel.supported
Category: doesn't work as it should
Current state: opened
Text:

There are 2 bugs in this package:

1. There is a wrong pdksh command "declare" in it:
<cut>
/sbin/rescan-scsi-bus[113]: declare: not found
/sbin/rescan-scsi-bus[114]: declare: not found
</endcut>

2. When adding new disk to system and run this script new device is correctly detected and installed in system, but when i removed one of my harddisks and run that script there were no changes at my /proc/scsi/scsi SCSI device listings. I need to manually run:
echo "scsi remove-single-device x x x x" > /proc/scsi/scsi
echo "scsi add-single-device x x x x" >/proc/scsi/scsi to make correct effect - delete of unexistant device from my system.
