On various machines after upgrade from 4.x-versions the following symptoms appear:

*)Inbound connections (via XDMCP exported X Servers) have broken Backspace key (including DEL), only Strg-H still works
*)Outgoing connections to other machines (via ssh) on Servers running XFree 3.x or no X at all the grey arrow keys are not working, they produce letters instead (A B C and D). If I start an xterm on those machines, then they work again.

Since 4.2.1 was a security update not much should have changed. Maybe the X maintainer can have a look if some keydefinitions are subtle changed ?
