corected. BTW your solution whould lead to error. The content of 
/var/log/messeges whould be lost. 

The problem is that this is simple braindamage, This should be posible to specify in some config file otherwise it is the situation 
that we (me and you) are changing he configuration parameters in 
the executable file in order to tune it into our needs. 

I don't like it. Thou shalt corect it properlly.
