It would be nice if fluxbox had a similar feature that GNOME or KDE: that it's menus are updated whenever a new package with .desktop entry is installed in the system. It would probably mean that it is able to read (patch on sources required) the menu entries from a pipe ("| wmconfig --output blackbox") and include it in a system-wide menu. As I see it, the file /usr/X11R6/fluxbox/menu should look like this:

[begin] (Fluxbox)

[include] ("|wmconfig --output blackbox")

[include] (~/.fluxbox/menu)

/* the mechanism of replacing /usr/X11R6/fluxbox/menu with ~/.fluxbox/menu entirely should be removed, or lest as an option */
