gqview outputs error messages:

GLib-CRITICAL **: file gconvert.c: line 498 (g_convert): assertion `str != NULL' failed

It is beacause function homedir() does not check if enviroment  
variable HOME_ETC exist before using it as argument of 
g_locale_to_utf8()
