  Po krótce opiszę problem:
po zainstalwoaniu gstreamer-* zaczynają się problemy.
Po reboocie systemu gst w gnomie nie działa. Wypisał, żeby zrobic
gst-register (wyniki są takie same z konta zwykłego użytkownika jak
i z roota). 
Po wykonaniu wyskoczyły błedy spowodowane paczką
gstreamer-libvisual-0.8.11-3. Po odinstalowaniu następnym winowajcą
był gstreamer-mjpegtools-0.8.11-3. Nawet po wgraniu zalezności
(których pakiet nie dociągnął) nic nie ruszyło.
Odinstalowanie tych dwóch paczek zażegnało błędy.

Teraz dołączę listę błędów:
