package A-*.
Product: poldek

OS/Version: PLD Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P5
Component: Core
AssignedTo: mis at pld-linux.org
ReportedBy: saxifrage at o2.pl
Estimated Hours: 0.0
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.7)
Gecko/20070919 PLD/3.0 (Th) BonEcho/2.0.0.7
Build Identifier:
Waiting until all 30 rpms of A-* are downloaded, installing all 30 rpms of A-*
and then AGAIN WAITING until all 15 rpms of B-* are downloaded is just waste of
time IMHO. Especially on modem and/or when installing A-* could take 2-3 hours
(*-debuginfo;). Could B-* be downloaded "in background" while installing A-* ?
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.poldek:/all-avail> upgrade
Display all 1070 possibilities? (y or n)
2.poldek:/all-avail> upgrade *
Actual Results:
downloading set#1 20 min (modem...)
installing set#1 14 min
downloading set#2 6 min
installing set#2 2 min
downloading set#3 97 min
installing set#3 240 min (some big *-debuginfo, repackaging, slow CPU...)
downloading set#4 40 min
...
Expected Results:
downloading set#1 20 min
installing set#1 14 min
installing already downloaded set#2 2 min
finishing downloading set#3 85 min
installing set#3 240 min
installing already downloaded set#4 35 min
installing already downloaded set#5 17 min
installing already downloaded set#6 60 min
installing already downloaded set#7 1 min
installing already downloaded set#8 2 min
