new patch for kernel

hi,
i just came across new patch for kernel - lpp (linux progress patch). it
doesn't do enything especially useful, but it just "prettyfies" our machines
boot-up.
so. i tried to use this patch on pld's 2.2.18 kernel, put i failed. by
knowledge of c, patch, and kernel internals is too small to even try to find
out what is the problem.
but, maybe you could check this?
