Well... the sources are on master.kde.org. But I don't have access to
them.

I've build packages using KDE CVS, which probably created exactly same
packages, but no guarantee. I would rather not put my tarballs into CVS
as they may differ from official tarbals. I don't think there will be
any important differences but the facts ar: 1. these are *NOT* official
tarballs 2. MD5 will be (probably) different. Maybe if we call them
different (not kde-3.0.2)...

Hi,

As Dzimi asked me for PLD kernel testing for PPC arch I did it in the
morning.

I'm using Mandrake 2.4.18 kernel as an backup (it works OK)

The problems with kernel started after moving out extfs system support
from kernel to modules.

It doesn't matter of kernel I used 2.4 or brand new 2.2 form Dzimi I get
always the same error:

Elf32 kernel loaded ...
Loading ramdisk...
/pci/mac-io/bla bla bla ...,/boot/initrd: Unknown or corrupt filesystem

My initrd is about 50 kb so I think it contains ext2 module inside.

Rebuilding it by hand makes no difference.

BTW: 2.2.21 kernel shows few unresolved symbols during installation
process

Anyway thats all about my investigation in this case.

Why? It contains only documentation in PostScript, that is also present
in HTML format in main package. It will confuse users (,,uh.. I want to

Many of it doesn't really depend an alsa, but on SDL.
SDL is linked with all of its plugins, so ld links also SDL-dependant
programs with it...

I'm going do make SLD use dynamicly loaded plugins (and it's almost done),
but I have problems with automake.

I have AM_CONDITIONAL(ENABLE_MODULAR, ... ) in configure.in and I want to have

if ENABLE_MODULAR
lib_LTLIBARAIES=libfoo.la
libfoo_la_LDADD=-lbar
...
else
noninst_LTILIBRARIES=libfoo.la
...
endif

in Makefile.am for plugins, but it doesn't work, automake wants to define both
of ..._LTLIBRARIES and screams that it is alredy defined (while parsing second) :-(

Does anyone know how to solve it?

Defining empty lib_LTLIBRARIES (in second case) and noninst_LTLIBRARIES
(in first case) doesn't help?

Now I cannot check, but I think it wouldn't work.
lib_LTLIBRARIES and noninst_LTLIBRARIES define the same: that
library libfoo should be built, bot in secodn case not installed.

So automake will tell me that this library is already defined to build
(tha same that with previous).

The problem is that automake, when making makefile.in defines both
..._LTLIBRARYs _unconditionaly_.

-static subpackage should almost always require -devel subpackage. I

xpdf-1.01 which is already in repo can display type-3 fonts. This mean,
that when viewing file created by dvipdf, gs -sDEVICE=pdfwrite and
other, with xpdf-1.01 you will see these funny shapes (called by some
individuals letters and digits) instead of random dots.

There is an article on mozillapl.org which describes how to enable AA in
mozilla:

It works also with polish characters. The solution described there
sucks, because it directly accesses font files, but it works and I'm not
aware of any better solution.

I think we need a method to disable IPv6 in sshd (pass it -4 option). I
have following situation:
[X Client no IPv6] <--X over ssh>-->[ firewall IPv6 ] <--X over ssh--> [X server no IPv6]
If I try to start any X client booth ssh sessions terminate. Adding -4
on the IPv6 machine solves the problem.

So why is xine-lib 0.9.10 moved from test to Ra, and 0.9.8 (last
working) removed from FTP???? There is one person responsible for
moving packages from sources, because we don't want a mess there.
But there is a mess. It seems the one person is not doing it right :-(

s/AM_TYPE_PTRDIFF_T/AC_CHECK_TYPES(ptrdiff_t)/g in configure.in (or
*.m4), then try again.

cups-clients provides "lpr" while cups obsoletes it.

I prosed to make security list few months ago.
serek answered that it doesn't make sense, because there was one
some time ago and nobody used it.

But I think that NOW people would use it. At least just after committing

Bleh... after latest changes sshd should work, but if somebody have
"core" limit set to >0 in limits.conf, he can't even login :/

Separate package IMHO -- easier to maintain and test (don't have to wait
for qt to compile).

Hi

There are some packeges from KDE-3.0.2 for i686 on:

and QT-3.0.4 on:
http://www.javart.com.pl/~mkochano/PLD/local/

These packages were built on minimal _Ra_ chroot. I really mean minimal.
It was created with:
poldek --root /var/chroot/builder -i poldek bash rpm-build
and then filled with packages from BuildRequires. At first QT was built.
Then KDE3. Some packages have 0.1 release, but there is no difference
between version 0.1 and 1. Simply when they built correctly I've set
release to 1 and commited specs to CVS.

Well, it works for me. I don't have any packages from NEST. If anybody
try to use these packages I would like to know if it works for him.

PS. kdemultimedia is building now. When it's done, I'll upload it to the
same location. And so I'll do with others.
