[th] bootsplash + geninitrd

If I have bootsplash [1] installed and use geninitrd [2] to generate
initramfs for recent kernel [3], the splash initializes fine but I end
up with a kernel panic (unable to mount initrd, tried: romfs).
Why does it think it's romfs? Removing bootsplash (or just unpacking
and repacking which drops trailing data too) fixes the problem.
[1] bootsplash-3.2-3.i686
[2] geninitrd-8682-1.noarch
[3] kernel-2.6.21.7-1.i686
