This problem doesn't occour with kernel-laptop-module-build, but I see
now that they have different releases and it's already fixed:

I use kernel-net-iwl3945 on laptop (kernel-laptop).
I would use kernel-net-r1000 (now I have r8169).

And there are many laptop related packages, kernel-pcmcia is such a
stuff I think:)
