If you mean mails sent after any push to the git central repository,
then it is the case. In the current setup subject line looks like:

Subject: packages/gitolite branch master updated. 4f3a4706b3e9be236adb5ef822d4d679033203f6

Do you as about output of  rpm -q --changelog? It includes topic of git
commit message - part of the message up to the first blank line.
