This R: was updated purely based on very first entry in release notes for 251:

    Backwards-incompatible changes:

    * The minimum kernel version required has been bumped from 3.13 to 4.15,
      and CLOCK_BOOTTIME is now assumed to always exist.

If it actually works with lower kernel versions feel free to adjust.
