I am a Linux beginner, and am searching for a great Distro and hope that I found it. Here is my Question... I have downloaded the *.iso (pld-i686-1.iso, pld-i686-2.iso), and burned them to a disk, but is the disk bootable? Mine seems to not boot to the installer. Am I doing something wrong? If there is not bootable installer... then how would I install PLD? I will download the "base" and try that. I am hoping that PLD will make a good web/mail and FTP server. I have tried SME Linux (e-smith.org) it is very simple but will not let others outside me network FTP into my webserver. RedHat Linux is just too much. If I install the "WebServer" that they suggest, it installs all these packages that I do not need. I am looking forward to PLD Linux... I am sure you will hear from me again :) Cincron*TheBurds.org AKA (Tony Burd) Corporate Slave, Computer Enthusiast TheBurds.org Server Admin* Linux Registered User #255140 *TheBurds.org~Linux RuneHOV Server 216.4.232.45:7797 *TheBurds.org~Linux Rune Co-Op Server 216.4.232.45:7877 +TheBurds.org~Linux Jedi Knight II Server 216.4.232.45:27808 {Coming Soon!} -----Original Message----- From: Michal Kochanowicz [mailto:michal at michal.waw.pl] Sent: Monday, June 03, 2002 4:13 PM To: PLD Linux Distribution User List Subject: Re: Beginner Install Questions On Mon, Jun 03, 2002 at 04:03:35PM -0400, Tony Burd wrote: > I have downloaded the *.iso (pld-i686-1.iso, pld-i686-2.iso), and burned > them to a disk, but is the disk bootable? There will be unofficial support in 2.6 and official in 2.7 (end of july) Martii
