po upgrade systemu, m.in. mplayer i alsa 
uruchmaiając mplayera z opcjami:
[gandalf]# mplayer film.avi -ao alsa9:surround51 -channels 6
mam cos takiego:

przez co film i dzwiek jest bardzo spowalniany
jesli dam dzwik na sdl i stereo jest ok
