lighttpd mod_fastcgi crashed [Ac]

jak w temacie, po upgrejdzie zarówno php jak i lighttpd

 lighttpd-1.4.19-1
 php-fcgi-5.2.5-5

okazało się, że nie działa lighttpd.

 # cat /var/log/lighttpd/error.log | tail

crashed, died, ... you get the idea.

bytecode caches for now and try again.
 2008-03-21 23:58:49: (mod_fastcgi.c.1340) [ERROR]: spawning fcgi failed.
 2008-03-21 23:58:49: (server.c.908) Configuration of plugins failed. Going 
down.

 # cat /etc/php/php*ini | grep buffer
 output_buffering = Off
 (reszta to komentarze, wyciąłem)

Jak to naprawić?
