Packages from baggins/Rescue-CD are some striped-down version of oryginal
packages without some faetures. This packages are for Rescue-CD, not for
normal systems.
If You searching for glibc 2.2.3 look at:
ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/PLD/current/PLD-1.0/<arch>/PLD/RPMS/glibc-2.2.3*

But any way:
# ls -lh /lib/libc-2.2.3.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1.1M lip 3 16:21 /lib/libc-2.2.3.so*
# rpm -qfi /lib/libc-2.2.3.so

URL : http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/
Summary : GNU libc
Description :
Contains the standard libraries that are used by multiple programs on
the system. In order to save disk space and memory, as well as to ease
upgrades, common system code is kept in one place and shared between
programs. This package contains the most important sets of shared
libraries, the standard C library and the standard math library.
Without these, a Linux system will not function. It also contains
national language (locale) support and timezone databases.

And all work fine.
