base it is bootable base image, and all other -<num> holds all additional
resources which will be required during install if you choose some 
resources which are not avalaible on (not rubber) base image :)

And yes you are right - this terible .. why it is not described in kind 
o README file ? ;>
Kind od README file with short descriptio will/must be placed on ftp.
