Title: Annoying chmod...
Ticket ID: #281
Ticket URL: http://bugs.pld.org.pl/?bug=281
Package: FHS-2.1-25
Distribution: PLD-Ra.main
Category: other bug on spec
Current state: opened
Text:

After installing FHS, by hand, or by 'apt-get upgrade', permissions for /home/users and /home/services are changed to 755. Not all people want such permissions, and it is very annoying to change them manually after each upgrade.

This is second package I've found that is changing permissions or ownership after upgrading. Previous one was proftpd, and also was reported here by me.

I think that, there are much more packages with this kind of bug.

In my opinion ALL packages should NOT change any file or directory permissions/ownership if this file/directory already exists.

Permissions and ownership should be set ONLY durring creation of file/directory.
