Attempt to call smbstatus gives:

Built with gtk+-1.2.10
tdb((null)): tdb_open_ex: could not open file /var/lock/samba/brlock.tdb: No such file or directory
Failed to open byte range locking database
tdb((null)): tdb_open_ex: could not open file /var/lock/samba/locking.tdb: No such file or directory
ERROR: Failed to initialise locking database

Option "restart samba" does not work from user (of course... :) ) - maybew some "su-script" to this option??

There is no .desktop file - should be in Settings/System  (this should get to applnk package, I think)
