Project: PLD 2.x (Ac)

Reported by: Matthew W. Miller (mwmiller)
      Package: bash
      Version: 2.05b-17
Summary: bash ^Z suspend tends to freeze unpredictably

bash tends to fall asleep when suspending with ^Z under conditions
that are difficult to nail down. As far as I can tell, it's most
likely to happen the first time (but not on subsequent tries) trying to
suspend after a login, and it doesn't seem to matter whether bash is
run as 'bash' or as 'sh'. The following steps are pretty likely to
reproduce the problem:

1. Login as any user or open a new terminal window.
2. $ top
3. Press ^Z to suspend; likely to freeze. Open another login and kill
-9 top to regain control.
4. $ top
5. Press ^Z to suspend; likely to work fine.
