It shouldn't, but it does.

As you wrote earlier, X only makes available the fonts matched by
XLC_LOCALE rules. Indeed, the attachment fails to display "ł" correctly
if run with LANG=da_DK.ISO-8859-1 (works fine on pl_PL.ISO-8859-2 and
pt_PT.UTF-8).
