This patch used to remove spencode.o from linking, because this object
file was empty (contained no symbols) on non-debug builds (spencode.c
contained only debugging code), thus causing warnings during module
loading.

If spencode.c exports some symbols when built without debugging, this
patch should be removed.

It's some rather recently added patch, maybe broken.
