Do you have both OOo binaries? One compiled with 4.2 and one with 4.1.2?

If yes then you could trace which so library is broken. Take 4.2 compilation 
and replace one library by one from 4.1.2 compilation until the problem 
is ,,fixed'' (or the other way around... until the problem is visible).
