Others are successfully using bugzilla, it's not that scary...

Which is just another issue tracker system, with bug filling form being
just a little shorter than bugzilla's.

As for now, our users tend to post spec requests in a special thread on
forum.pld-linux.org - the question is, would they use an issue tracker
if asked to.
