don't get over excited :)

yes, it lives, as any branch is open for commits until there are insterested 
developers.

however it is not officially supported in th, and building it needs manual 
installing of depdendant packages from th-obsolete.

there will be no default build with mysql, unless you send a patch that builds 
sqlite AND mysql/postgresql by default (i.e sqlite support is produced from 
same build), but as much i know it supports one backend a time.

happy hacking on software that upstream considers dead :)
