Why vim depends on vim-rt

Description to vim-rt says:

This package contains macros, documentation, syntax configuration and
manual pages for Vim. If you want to take advantage of Vim more
powerful features, you should install this package.

But I've been just surprised that it is actually required by vim? Does
someone know the reason? For test I installed vim without vim-rt and it
seems to work. But maybe I'm missing something.
