Subject: OpenCluster v 0.2 - High-Availability and Load Balancing Software

Dear Sir/Madam,

OpenCluster v 0.2 is a new revolutionary software for Linux distributed
under GNU GPL license agreement. Quantizer v. 0.2 implements Quantum
Balancing algorithm for master-less load-balancing distributed with
OpenCluster as well as Pulsar v. 0.7 - master-less high-availability
software with fast failover detection.

The main goal of proposed software is to implement reliable ip-cluster
solution where cluster itself consists of similar computers. The cluster
can be used for implementing high availability and/or load balancing of
each service. All the computers are located on one ethernet-based local
net and have the same ip address (VIP - "virtual ip address", according to
LVS terminology). All computers see all the requests coming from user
side. Selection is based on client's address. Every computer serves only
users, whose ip-address belongs to particular address range. If one or
some number of clustered computers fails, the other will take their users.
We provide our own heartbeat code. Every computer in the cluster sends
information reporting its health to all other computers. Based on
predefined timeouts the decision is made whether particular computer
(and/or service) is working or not. This information is used to generate a
rule for iptables filter. The information can be send using the same
ethernet interface which serves clients requests.

Best regards,
Vitaly
