W VMware Server 2.0 Beta dodano obsługę VMI:
Support for Virtual Machine Interface: This feature enables
transparent paravirtualization, in which a single binary version of
the operating system can run either on native hardware or in
paravirtualized mode.

W naszych kernelach aktualnie mamy wyłączonone.

CONFIG_VMI: 
 VMI provides a paravirtualized interface to the VMware ESX server
 (it could be used by other hypervisors in theory too, but is not
 at the moment), by linking the kernel to a GPL-ed ROM module
 provided by the hypervisor.

Suse się chwali, że ich kernele to mają.

Co myślicie o włączeniu tego ? Skutkuje to jakoś negatywnie dla
systemów bez virtualizacji ?
