Can some python hacker chack and fix why python has hardcoded
sys.prefix, thus making python-virtualenv a no-op?

[baggins w sith tmp]$ virtualenv xxx
New python executable in xxx/bin/python
ERROR: The executable xxx/bin/python is not functioning
ERROR: It thinks sys.prefix is '/usr' (should be '/tmp/xxx')
ERROR: virtualenv is not compatible with this system or executable

[baggins w sith tmp]$ rpm -q python
python-2.6.5-3.x86_64
