To jest z GDM? GDM i gnome-shell wyświetla na pasku ikonkę z
gnome-power-managera, ale to tylko warning, po protu go nie uruchomi.

Tu trudno powiedzieć po tym wycinku, ale na pewno jakieś okienko lub
ikonki się nie wyświetliły ;)

To akurat nie jest dziwne i nic nie powinno psuć - swoją drogą ten
klient to pewnie coś GTK+2.

To natomiast nie wygląda dobrze. Dasz radę uruchomić
gnome-settings-daemon z argumentem "--debug", powinien być gdzieś w
/usr/lib{,64}?
