Because this makes hard to choose among distos. The idea wa simple:
first choose server with PLD, like ftp.pld.org.pl, then choose
directory structure with porper distro version, e.g. PLD-0.2/<arch>/, PLD-1.0/<arch>/

Maybe some day we'll make PLD stable?
