wywołuj emulator terminala z opcją "login shell" (xterm/rxvt +ls) albo
ustawiaj zmienną środowiskową MAIL na katalog z mailboksem. to samo tyczy
się funkcji powiadamiania o nadchodzącej poczcie w bashu.
