alsaconf dłuuugo szuka kart, potem znajduje SiSa (rev a0) intel8x0
po konfiguracji i nadpisaniu /etc/modules.conf wyrzuca:

Starting sound driver: snd-card-0 service..........................[ DONE ]
/usr/sbin/alsactl: set_controls:986: snd_ctl_open error: No such file or 
directory
Setting default volumes...
Saving the mixer setup used for this in /etc/asound.state.

 Now ALSA is ready to use.

Mam wielką nadzieję, że komuś się coś wyjaśniło :-)

Co do kompilacji, dziękuję za link do FAQ.
Właśnie poldek ciągnie 12 paczuszek po "install glib*" - zobaczymy :-)
Część pewnie niepotrzebna ale kilka wygląda znajomo :-)
Czyli jednak czegoś brakowało...
