I like the product so far, but need to be able to authenticate against multiple vpopmail passwd files. Thanks. (They are actually the same 3 machines) The mail spool is in maildir format. I have about 15000 mail accounts. I do not have local user accounts on each of the machines for these users. Rather, I am using PAM authenticating the ussers off a remote RADIUS system (which is also used for dial up) I had to modify the solid-pop3d code slightly to allow this. All maildirs are owned by user 'mail'. My spop3d.conf: LogPriority local1.info MailDropName /var/spool/mail/%s MailDropType maildir UserOverride false ChangeGID false LogStatistics true UserBullFile /var/spool/mail/server-bulletins/users/%s BulletinDirectory /var/spool/mail/server-bulletins/bulletins AddBulletins true My questions: Is solid-pop3d (ver 0.15) stable (solid) enough for this setup (I am using inetd)? How will it handle the same user connecting at the same time on two of the servers? -- Chris Picton Bytes Technology Group Systems Developer Chris.Picton@BTGNet.net From jurekb at bobo.ds5.agh.edu.pl Fri Jan 19 14:47:40 2001 From: jurekb at bobo.ds5.agh.edu.pl (=?iso-8859-1?Q?Jerzy_Ba=B3amut?=) Date: Tue Dec 20 11:33:46 2005 Subject: New install - problems In-Reply-To: <3A67E5E1.8080307@BTGNet.net>; from Chris.Picton@BTGNet.net on Fri, Jan 19, 2001 at 08:59:45AM +0200 References: <3A67E5E1.8080307@BTGNet.net> Message-ID: <20010119144740.A28301@bobo.ds5.agh.edu.pl> On Fri, Jan 19, 2001 at 08:59:45AM +0200, Chris Picton wrote: > I have the following setup: > > 3 POP servers mounting a common NFS mail spool and 3 MX servers > delivering to this spool using postfix. I think it is (I hope :). I know some server with SolidPOP which handles about 100,000 accounts and they haven't big problems with it. > How will it handle the same user connecting at the same time on two of > the servers? I am using 0.15, but that was not the couse of the problem. I missunderstood about where spop3d.conf shold be. I put it in /etc/spop3d.conf. Now it works. I'll try to watch if there is logging proglem regarding LogPriority. Regards, Sasa
