           Summary: evdev breaks keyboards
           Product: PLD 3.x (Th)
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: PLD Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P5
         Component: X.Org

Since upgrading to the latest Xorg, I have two problems with evdev.

First, if I use the synaptics driver, my external mouse stops working (device
doesn't report core events). The config is correct and references devices by
their names, all was working well at one point.

Second, my keyboard doesn't work properly. evdev takes over it even if I
specify to use the kbd driver. I then have to set the model to "evdev" as all
normal (pc104/pc105/ASUS Laptop) models produce garbage (arrow up becomes
PrtScr, right alt becomes enter) but it only works for the first session. As
soon as I log out I need to restart X or keyboard produces garbage again.
Furthermore, the layout is always "us" no matter what I put in the config file
forcing me to override this inside GNOME (and GNOME asks me on every login if
this is correct as X config changed).
