You can find these scripts in CVS in admin/distfiles.

Parsing is very limited - due to security reasons spec cannot be
processed through rpm on cvs server (as it would execute arbitrary
code).

Avoid using %{?foo*} constructs in source URLs.
Or contribute support for them in specparser.pl.
