I've sent this kernel to ac-test.
Please test - it's meant to be replacement for 2.4.27-1 until 2.4.28
becomes ready.
2.4.27-2.2 fixes three security problems (tty/ldist, binfmt_elf, smbfs -
see kernel24.spec or package changelog for CVE references).
2.4.27-2.2 builds fine using gcc 3.3.x, but not 3.4.x yet (gcc 3.4 fixes
have been merged to 2.4.28 - see mikpe's patches in bk if you need
them).
I was unable to test-build this kernel on sparc64 because Ac contains
crosssparc64-gcc 3.4.2 now.
PS. what do you think about adding "-release"/"-releasesmp" to
EXTRAVERSION?
It's necessary to use different subversions of one major
kernel version. Otherwise modutils/module-init-tools fail to choose
proper modules, which ends in "invalid module format" error (on 2.6.x)
or more or less likely crash (on 2.4.x).
